CPA Division III: Division Of Industrial-Organizational Psychology And Consulting
2016 Officers Candidate Statements

Division III Chair-Elect - Ren Hong, PhD

I am eager at the opportunity to join the CPA board as Chair-Elect and serve Division III! I have had over ten years of experience holding leadership positions within professional organizations. Most recently, I was the Registration Chair of the Asian American Psychological Association, an organization of over 200 individuals. Having held various positions within a governing board, I am confident that I will provide the experience and leadership that Division III seeks!

My vision for Division III is to continue expanding on its strengths: the guest speaker series, professional resources, and the geographical camaraderie that draws us together. I would like to focus on the creation of new training resources, mentorship opportunities, and advocacy for the division within the greater CPA organization.

I look forward in collaborating with my fellow California psychologists to grow Division III and continue its success!

Secretary/Treasurer - Emery Ayers-Greenidge, PsyD

It is with great excitement that I am writing to introduce myself as a candidate for the Secretary/Treasurer position for the Division III I/O and Consulting Psychology Board. I am a graduate of the Wright Institute with a degree in clinical psychology and an interest in the application of psychological principals to the business world. I have been exploring these interests by way of my active membership in Division III and in my professional pursuits. Currently, I serve as your Leadership and Advocacy Network representative (LAN rep). In this position, I have had the opportunity to support our board, become familiar with the board’s broader goals, and engage in monthly board meetings. In an effort to engage each of you, I initiated a weekly media outreach called Who, What and When-sday, in which I share news articles and other media that pertain to the many facets of our field. The highlight of my experience thus far as your LAN rep was
representing our division and advocating for our field at the Leadership and Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill.

I have enjoyed serving as a periphery member on the board and, as I look forward, I am eager to take on more leadership responsibilities that will have greater impact. As Secretary/Treasurer, I would be excited to contribute my vote on issues such as outreach efforts, cross division collaborations, and creating opportunities for CEUs for our field. With professional experience keeping business meeting minutes and maintaining patient notes, I am confident that I would be able to document our Board’s meetings in an accurate and timely manner. While I have minimal experience managing a budget for a professional entity, my personal record shows my ability to ensure that debts are paid and that surpluses are managed appropriately.

I would be honored to serve you as the Secretary/Treasurer on the Division III board. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
