CPAGS Member - Denise Lew, MA
Denise Lew is a pre-doctoral intern at San Francisco Psychotherapy Research group and Training Clinic. She earned a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology at UC Berkeley and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute where she is currently a doctoral candidate.
Denise’s clinical and research interests are in relationships, the everyday social and romantic kind, those between therapists and patients, and those with companion animals. Using a Control-Mastery approach to her work, Denise moves flexibly between active coaching and emotionally engaged interaction, depending on individual needs. Her aim is to collaborate with patients and provide new experiences in support of their goals.
Denise has worked with kids and families in schools and community mental health clinics, as well as individuals and groups in The Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente, Richmond. She loves working with adults, and is passionate about issues around intimacy, sex, love, and dating in the modern age.
In her downtime, Denise likes to cook, hike, and play volleyball. She also loves a good bath and romp with friends. Mostly, she enjoys dancing – the free form, expressive kind – and occasionally finds herself dabbling with aerial dance in the East Bay.
Denise can be reached at 415.793.6534 and firstname.lastname@example.org.
