CPAGS at Leadership and Advocacy Day
The Leadership and Advocacy Day is part of the State Leadership and Advocacy Conference (usually held in February or March). This yearly event provides guidance and an opportunity for students to lobby for the profession at the California capitol building. In the morning of the LAD, attendees learn about current bills, advocacy work, and the legislative process. CPA leadership members as well as our lobbyist, Amanda Levy, will be training students and professionals alike in how to build relationships with legislators. Following the training (and lunch!), attendees break up by legislative district groups to meet with their local legislators and staff members to discuss current bills and issues related to mental health care. Come “storm” the capitol with us to lobby on behalf of CPA and the clients we serve! This event is not to be missed!
SCHOLARSHIPS and TRAVEL GRANTS are available for those who qualify!! Travel awards are available to CPAGS members and are distributed based on availability. Those traveling furthest to attend are often given priority. Students seeking more information, interested in attending and/or interested in a scholarship click here for registration and information.
