Description: The University of North Carolina TEACCH® Autism Program provides training nationally and internationally and offers consultations for teachers, residential care providers, and other professionals from a variety of disciplines working with individuals with ASD. We are joined by two UNC TEACCH Autism Program trainers to offer this specific TEACCH Fundamentals training at UCSF STAR Center for ASD and NDDs in San Francisco, CA. This three-day workshop will provide participants with an overview of the learning styles of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Structured TEACCHing. Structured TEACCHing is based on the understanding of the symptoms and learning styles of individuals with autism and the use of visual supports to provide meaning, promote independence, and capitalize on the individual’s strengths. The format of this training is lectures, videos, interactive discussion, and small group activities.
