Successfully Navigating a Career  in Medical Settings

Dr. Tina Runyan – Instructor
April 26, 2019   12 pm - 1 pm

A commonality among all health psychology positions is that, in some way, they bring you in contact with the allopathic medical community - whether that be directly, by your location of practice, or indirectly, by referrals and the types of issues you are addressing with patients. Practicing as a health psychologist in medical settings, such as hospitals, ambulatory care clinics, and medical schools, offers many rewards and countless opportunities for collaboration. However, there are predictable as well as site-specific, unpredictable obstacles. This webinar will address the culture of medicine, medical education, and medical schools as well as offer concrete suggestions about how to successfully navigate these setting to support a successful career.
