Examples of specific character types will be utilized to illustrate the technique. Case questions from the participants will contribute to the understanding of how to intervene effectively. The cases presented provide an opportunity to name the defensive style, possible character type, any resistance to the process as well as show how the method deepens the therapeutic relationship.

Learning Objectives:

After attending Part II attendees will be able to:

  • Delineate a few character types used as examples of the method
  • Describe interventions that effectively disarm character defenses and deepen the therapeutic relationship.
