From Licensed to Practicing:

How to Hang Your Shingle (Part 1)

March 22, 2019

12 - 1 pm

David Rosenblatt, PsyD - Instructor

Practicing psychology as a sole entrepreneur is a complicated process.  While graduate school and clinical training do well to prepare us for the practice of psychology, there is often a dearth of business acumen offered. This webinar will provide some of the points to consider when an early career psychologist decides to hang a newly earned shingle and start a private practice.  Areas covered include liability insurance, deciding on niche, advertising, and paneling.  This is by no means  exhaustive and it is not legal advice - it is a discussion based on my personal experiences.

Learning Objectives:

After attending Part I attendees will be able to:

1.  Identify at least five key areas to research prior to starting a private practice.
2.  State the difference between two malpractice insurance types (claims-made and occurrence.)
3.  Report a clearer sense of whether they want to work with insurance panels or not.

Registration Fees:

Division I Members: Free

Non-Division I Members: $30

No CE Credits are offered for this webinar.
