CPAGS Student Leadership and Advocacy Conference (SLAC)

Interested in making a difference in your community? Have an interest in getting involved in advocacy for the field of psychology and the patients you serve? Are you a psychologist-in-training? If any of these apply to you, and you don’t know where to start, then join us for a day of fun and learning with your peers about the many ways to get involved in advocacy through your profession.

This conference introduces students to:

  • the importance of having psychologists involved in advocacy
  • the many roles of a psychologist in systemic and social advocacy
  • avenues for becoming leaders in the field

You will be able to:

  • hear from others in various levels of their journey to become a psychologist and how advocacy plays a role even after school
  • connect with like-minded students: students focused on giving back to their community and their future profession
  • discover opportunities to network and learn of the many events in your area that can help you get started

Subscribe to the CPAGS listserv for updates on the event. For non-members, consider joining CPAGS before registering for the event. Travel re-imbursement will be determined based on funding and distance traveled. Contact Casey Rasmusen at crasmussen@alliant.edu for more information.
